Rodan+Fields – Soothe Regimen for Sensitive Skin – A Review

Hiya Everyone!

Today a review of a skincare regimen from Rodan + Fields.

Since this is a lot of skincare for 1 post

I will give you my My first impressions and an overview of each product.

They have broken it up into steps which is a good thing- as I usually use products from different brands depending on the weather, how much makeup up I am using and the general feel of my skin.

My skin has always been sensitive, very fair and burns easily.

So here we go!

Soothe 1

Soothe Gentle Cream Wash

What it is

Dissolves and sweeps away makeup and other skin impurities without the use of harsh surfactants. With essential barrier-nurturing ceramides, this wash is the first step to supporting your skin’s cleanliness and resiliency. 125 mL/4.2 fl. oz.

Use the Gentle Cream Wash in the morning and evening. Follow with SOOTHE Sensitive Skin Treatment. For oiler skin, wet skin and gently massage onto the entire face evenly; rinse thoroughly and pat dry. For drier skin, gently massage directly onto skin and use a fresh gauze pad to remove excess product. Do not use water.

Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Propanediol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Isostearyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol Cocate, Ethylcellulose, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Caffeine, Xanthan Gum, Tocopheryl Acetate, Bisabolol, Aminomethyl Propanol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Tropolone, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Ceramide NP (Ceramide 3), Ceramide AP (Ceramide 6 II), Phytosphingosine, Cholesterol, Carbomer, Ceramide EOP (Ceramide I)

My Thoughts

I like it.

  • Did remove face makeup – I did not use around eyes and mouth aread
  • Did not dry out my skin
  • Left it soothe and comfortable feeling
  • Good first step in cleansing

My Thoughts

I like it but I don’t love it.

  • It does have a cooling affect which would be great on skin that has more redness to it.
  • Does not absorb as quickly as I would like it to.
  • It has a bit of a medicinal scent and leaves the skin a bit sticky/ tacky
  • It feels like It wants to be a serum but just doesn’t feel like one.

Next Up Soothe Moisture Replenishing Cream

What it is

Rich, dewy formula soothes, moisturizes and nourishes skin. Utilizes RF COLD FISSION™ technology to replenish skin’s natural moisturizing factors without the use of traditional emulsifiers. 50 mL/1.7 fl. oz.

ncorporate into your morning and evening regimen following SOOTHE Sensitive Skin Treatment. Apply a thin layer evenly over your entire face, avoiding the eye area. Do not rinse off.
Water, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Echium Plantagineum Seed Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Canola Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Urea, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Carbomer, Polysilicone-11, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Triacetin, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, BHT, Sodium Hydroxide, Pichia Anomala Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Carnitine
My Thoughts
I like this one more than the last 2 products.
The problem I have with skincare such as this – If I cannot apply it close to my eye region -doesn’t that defeat the sensitive skin factor.
I love using a skin cream all over my face and a separate eye cream but if the product is meant to soothe the skin than it should be able to be used around the eye area.
  • Left skin moisturized
  • Absorbs Quickly
  • Almost no scent

Redefine Lip Renewing Serum

My Thoughts
This is my favourite out of all the Rodan+ Fields I have tried as I noticed results right away the next morning after use.
  • Fullness after first use
  • non sticky smooth on the lips
  • I can feel it sink in
I wish I had more because I am all about Lips ….
At first they reminded me of medical grade gauze but they are much softer.
I will definitely continue using these

Final Thoughts
Perhaps this particular skincare regimen was not the best one for my skin as I am sensitive but not all sensitive skins are created equal.
It’s wonderful idea conceptually though.
Have You ever used Rodan + Fields or a fixed skincare regimen?
As always thanks for dropping by!

  1. Thanks so much for your honest review of our products, Cat; so glad that you enjoyed them! The lip serum is one of my all-time favorites – it’s a nightly MUST have for me.
Happy to offer any additional information on RF products to anyone who is interested – we have regimens that address the four main skin concerns – anti-aging, sun damage, acne and sensitivity. 🙂

  2. The sunscreen is probably one that I could see myself using – it is a physical / mineral sunscreen! Perfect for sensitive gals like us! Bravo!
Those little lip capsules look very space-age. Glad to hear they actually WORK. Are your lips super pouty and kissable? 😉
I use similar gauze pads for my manicures – they’re really handy. 🙂
I’ve heard of Rodan + Fields but don’t know a lot about them – they’re kind of like Mary Kay, right?

    1. Hi there! Rodan + Fields is a line of dermatologist-developed skincare products from the doctors who created Proactiv Solution. It was initially a top seller in high-end retail establishments (Nordstrom, etc), before the doctors adopted the network marketing sales model. We’ve been in the US for about 8 years, launched in Canada in 2015, and are launching in Australia this year! Feel free to email me or check out my website if you’d like more info. We have regimens that address the four main skincare concerns – anti-aging, sun damage, acne and sensitivity.

  3. Oops I didn’t finish 🙊 I tried their microdermabrasion & night renewing serum. But I only tried them once and I used the tiniest amount, especially the microdermabrasion because I have sensitive skin and rosacea. My skin survived! I liked the night renewing serum. Xoxo
